Ben Zyskowicz (NCP) has proposed that public spending be reduced by 2.6 billion euros – equivalent to roughly five per cent of the current national budget. The seasoned Member of Parliament would generate the savings by cutting back on transfer payments made by the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela), such as benefits for families with children, student final aid and basic unemployment allowances.
