The autumn’s first snow came down in some places in Lapland on Monday.
According to the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the first snowflakes appeared at least in the municipality of Salla in Eastern Lapland.
Meteorologist Anja Häkkinen from the Meteorological Institute reports that the thickness of the snow cover was a few centimetres.
No permanent snow layer is expected as yet, even though the temperatures especially at night are forecast to drop quite sharply.
Some snow showers are to be anticipated, and occasionally snow can also be enjoyed once more in other parts of Finland.
