Advance voting for Finland’s municipal elections continued even on Monday more briskly than four years ago.
A total of more than 200,000 citizens exercised their right to vote on Monday, bringing the aggregate figure to 763,001 by Monday evening. The figure represents 18.2 per cent of the eligible population.
In comparison, the corresponding figure in the previous municipal elections in 2004 was 17.4 per cent.
Advance voting will continue until tonight, and the actual polling day will be next Sunday, October 26th.
Four years ago the overall voting percentage was 58.6%, with 35.6% choosing to vote on polling day.
