Two Helsinki watering-holes will have to cut their opening hours before the month is out, owing to the fact that the establishments have allowed the selling of sex in their premises.
Earlier this autumn, the Helsinki office of the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland cancelled the late licences of two downtown Helsinki nightclubs, under a proposal made by the police.
The restaurants were Alcatraz on Eerikinkatu and Club Soho on Ratakatu.
Both restaurants lodged an appeal with the Administrative Court of Hämeenlinna, which gave its ruling on the legality of the decision on Wednesday.
The Administrative Court ruled that the decision made by the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland will come into effect, and from Monday of next week onwards, the two restaurants will have to close their doors at 2 a.m. instead of the previous 4 a.m.
