
Anonymous groups contributed EUR 2.4 million to MPs’ and alternates’ campaigns
Unnamed groups contributed a total of EUR 2.4 million to the election campaigns of Finland’s Members of Parliament and their alternates.
Companies, organizations , and party groups are allowed to contribute to campaigns anonymously if the donations to any one candidate do not exceed EUR 1,500.
Anonymous private individuals contributed EUR 1.1 million to election campaigns.
The last of the mandatory disclosures of election funding have been submitted to the State Auditors.
Helsingin Sanomat has calculated that the total sum of donations to individual MPs is EUR 9.2 million, with 38 per cent of the financing, EUR 3.5 million, coming from anonymous sources.
