Finland's Minister of Defence Seppo Kääriäinen (Centre) confirmed on Wednesday that the Savo Brigade in Mikkeli and the Helsinki Air Defence Regiment in Tuusula would be shut down.
The move was prompted by government cost-cutting targets.
Kääriäinen said that two other garrisons are to be eliminated from the beginning of 2009. We will have more on this story in tomorrow's edition.
