The Centre Party has decided to make public disclosure of all individual donations it has received worth more than EUR 5,000.
Centre Party chairman, Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen had previously called for a called on party secretary Jarmo Korhonen to provide a clarification on the controversy surrounding a large donation to the party’s 2007 Parliamentary election campaign by the Menestyvä Suomi association.

The executive committee of the party executive received a report on the matter on Friday. Vanhanen later commented.
“The executive committee of the Centre Party decided that all contributions of more than EUR 5,000 received by the party and by organisations within the party in 2007, 2008, and 2009 will be made public.. A press conference will be held on the matter on Monday afternoon”, said Vanhanen in a statement issued by his aides.

In 2007. Menestyvä Suomi received EUR 125,000 from Nova Group and an affiliated company.
Nova Group also contributed generously to Kehittyvien maakuntien Suomi, which conspicuously provided funding for candidates in last year’s municipal elections.
Menestyvä Suomi collected EUR 535,000, which was used for advertising the Centre Party.
The association was shut down in 2008. In addition to Nova, no other sources of finance for the association have been disclosed.
