Dramatic autumn colours expected in Finnish Lapland
The annual display of autumn colours, or ruska, is expected to be especially stunning in Northern Lapland this year.
The most dramatic display of autumn foliage is expected in the Inari, Utsjoki, Enontekiö areas, and the northern parts of the Salla region, as well as on the large fells.
In Southern and Central Finland the autumn colours are expected to be much less dramatic.
"The excellent colours are the result of an exceptionally warm and dry July in upper Lapland", explains Dr. Risto Jalkanen of the Finnish Forest Research Institute.
