Advance voting in the elections for the European Parliament begins today, Wednesday around the country and at Finnish diplomatic missions and certain other locations abroad. In Finland, absentee ballots can be cast at many post offices, libraries, and other locations.
Advance voting is possible in Finland through Saturday this week, and on Monday and Tuesday next week. Advance voting abroad ends already on Saturday this week. The actual election day is Sunday, June 7th.
Eligible voters can use any of the advance polling locations regardless of their place of residence.

Voters are required to show a valid identification document with a photograph, such as a passport or driving licence.
It is also recommended that one take along the official notification of the right to vote, which has been mailed to all eligible voters. However, having the document with you is not mandatory.
The 27 member-states of the European Union are electing a total of 736 representatives for the European Parliament. Finland will have 13 seats in the new European Parliament.
