Every second university student considers studying abroad
UK, USA, France and Germany most popular destinations
Over half of Finnish first-year students at Finnish universities - 56 percent - plan on studying abroad at some point in their studies.
According to a poll commissioned by Helsingin Sanomat and conducted by Suomen Gallup, the most popular countries for foreign studies are the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and Germany.
The overwhelming majority - 86 percent - have a brief student exchange period in mind. Only four percent are interested in earning an entire degree in another country.
The typical student wishing to study abroad is a female under the age of 20, who is studying business, and has had previous experience studying abroad.
The main motivation for studying abroad is a desire to gain new experiences.
