Helsinki’s EU Office in Brussels represents and markets the City of Helsinki, the University of Helsinki, and the Regional Council of Uusimaa.
Brussels has a total of eight different Finnish regional offices which cover all of Finland.
In addition to the regional offices, the Finnish Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners (MTK), the foreign trade promotion organisation Finpro, the Academy of Finland, the National Technology Agency of Finland (TEKES), and the Confederation of Finnish Industry (EK) all have representations in Brussels.
The Helsinki EU Office has an annual budget of about EUR 240,000, with equal contributions from the City of Helsinki, the Regional Council of Uusimaa, and the University of Helsinki. The office has two full-time workers, and three trainees.
Next year the office will mark its tenth anniversary.
