FACTFILE: Cultural heritage for all senses with EU support

 print this
Louhisaari Manor Castle has been chosen as part of a three-year EU project to promote accessibility to cultural heritage, and for improving access to museums for people with disabilities.

The principle of the project is that everyone has the right to enjoy and to learn from cultural heritage.

Plans exist for a virtual walk around the castle, enhancing the normal tour by giving visual access to even the most difficult-to-reach parts.

The diverse character of the place can also be experienced with the help of scale models and objects that can be touched.

For the benefit of the hearing-impaired on this summer's tours, Louhisaari will offer an induction loop commentary system.
