Stora Enso is shutting down one machine at its paper cup and liquid carton plant in Imatra, and cutting about 330 jobs.
     
Stora Enso is closing a tube board machine in Varkaus, reducing staff by more than 100.
     
Stora Enso is cutting about 100 jobs at the Veitsiluoto paper factory in Kemi, and about 50 jobs at the Kotka paper factory.
     
Stora Enso is cutting production at the Sunila, pulp mill and the Enocell mill in Uimaharju. No job cuts are planned for now.
     
Stora Enso also plans to reduce administrative staff at all levels of the organisation in Finland as well. The number of jobs to be cut is to be announced later.
     
UPM is closing down its paper factory in Kajaani, and is eliminating 535 jobs.
     
UPM is closing down the Tervasaari pulp mill in Valkeakoski, and is reducing its staff by 150.
     
UPM is also taking measures to improve efficiency in all of its units around the world, including Finland. A total of 950 jobs are to be eliminated.
