FACTFILE: The barometer's forecast

 print this
The Association of Finnish Advertisers publishes an annual barometer, which measures the willingness of its affiliated companies to act as patrons of the arts. About 400 companies are included.
The newest study was made in the February and March of 2006. According to it, 18 per cent of companies will increase funding spent on sponsoring, while 15 per cent will decrease it. The ratio is the same as last year.
Sports has remained the most popular target. Two-thirds of all sponsorships have to do with sports.
Companies intend to increase sponsoring in civic and social events the most in the next few years.
Sponsoring individual artists and events will decrease. Sponsoring art facilities will remain the same, according to the barometer.
Media companies are not included in the barometer.
