As a service to readers living in the Helsinki area, here is a heads-up on the second Festival of English Language Theatre in Finland (FELT IF for short), which will be held in the space of one breathless day on October 31st, or Sunday a week from now.
For one day only, theatre-goers starved of anything to watch in English can gorge themselves on a marathon of original and classic one-act plays of anything between 10 minutes and 45 minutes in length.
Organised by the long-established Helsinki amateur drama group The Finn-Brit Players, the festival/actathon features their own productions and works performed by other individuals and groups including Thespians Anonymous, Narri's youth theatre group, and other local theatre troupes, and will involve both Finns and foreigners from Töölö to Toronto.

Anyone who is out of town or otherwise unable to go along can catch a triple bill of three of the featured pieces - Christopher Durang's The Actor's Nightmare, Harold Pinter's The Lover, and an adaptation of Sophocles' Antigone, in three performances in mid-November, under the title "3 For All."

The October event will be held from 14.00 until around 22.00 in the Balder Hall (Aleksanterinkatu 12), and is not spoilt for price: all-day tickets cost just EUR 5.00.
Tickets are available from the website shown below, along with more detailed information on FELT IF and the later productions.
