Finland helps train Georgian police in Estonia
Finland is supporting the former Soviet republic of Georgia by helping train its police. Finnish experts are in Estonia training Georgian police officers this week and again in mid-March.
The six-week training course for high-ranking Georgian police officials began on Monday at the Estonian Police School in Paikuse near Pärnu.
The course is organised by the Finnish Ministry of the Interior, the Police College of Finland, and the Estonian Police School.
Helping finance the project are Finland, Estonia, and the United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia (UNOMIG). Finland has contributed EUR 43,000 to the project.
