Finland to play Spain in 100th Anniversary fixture in October
Finland will meet Spain in a friendly match on October 17th in the Olympic Stadium, as part of the Finnish FA's 100th anniversary celebrations.
The FA President Pekka Hämäläinen expressed his delight that such a strong and attractive side as Spain would be coming to Helsinki.
Under their coach Luis Aragonés, Spain are in Group F of the UEFA European Championships qualifiers, together with Iceland, Denmark, and Sweden, so there will be no shortage of experience of playing Scandinavian sides.
Finland and Spain have played five times in the past.
Finland's only win came at home in 1969, when goals from Tommy Lindholm and Arto Tolsa sealed a 2-0 victory.
