Finnish segment of Amazing Race draws a large TV audience
Finns have always been eager to see how others see them, and how others make the country look, so it was probably no great surprise that the segment of the American reality-TV show The Amazing Race that was shot in Finland in the summer of 2006 pulled in a big TV audience when it was finally shown here on Sunday night.
The show went out on the commercial channel MTV3 and was watched by 1,282,000 viewers.
The numbers were actually pretty impressive, since The Amazing Race actually beat out - by around 10,000 viewers - the undoubted TV-fave of recent weeks, Tanssi tähtien kanssa ("Dancing with the Stars"), the Finnish localisation of the Strictly Come Dancing format.
This is also screened in MTV3's Sunday evening programming.
