The television channel National Geographic Adventure has bought the TV-rights to the Finnish travel series Madventures.
Initially the channel will air the third season of the cult series, the Finnish late-edition tabloid Ilta-Sanomat reports.

The programme, first aired in 2002, stars Finnish backpackers Riku Rantala and Tuomas Milonoff, who travel off the beaten track to remote destinations to witness weird and unusual practices and often try them for themselves.
The programmes have a strong ethical undercurrent amidst the gonzo antics, and allegedly seek to provoke discussion about intolerance, neoconservatism and moralism.
Madventures has been bought by TV-stations in 189 countries in total.
Hence the series is about to become the most widely-viewed Finnish television show ever.
