 print this
The Finnish Government decided on Wednesday that the ten members of the Finnish victim identification team are to continue their work in Thailand at least until the end of the current year.
The Government is supposed to decide by the end of the year whether the Finnish forensic scientists are to continue their work in Thailand also next year. Thailand has expressed a wish that foreign specialists would continue identification work even after the New Year, as over 1,000 bodies still remain unidentified.
A total of 14 Finns remain unaccounted for in Thailand - 11 children and three adults. Now the remains of 164 of the 178 Finnish victims who perished in the tsunami catastrophe on December 26th last year have been identified.
