The former youth idol Gee or Pikku G, whose real name is Henri Vähäkainu, was sentenced on Tuesday by the Vantaa District Court to day-fines in connection with drug offences.
The court found that Vähäkainu, 23, had distributed 10 grammes of cocaine in Helsinki last October.
According to the court report, Vähäkainu was the instrument in bringing together the actual cocaine dealer and a group of interested clients.
The evidence against him was in the form of a text message sent to the dealer containing the expression "10 rock", a reference in the court's opinion to the street term for cocaine.
Vähäkainu was ordered to pay 80 day-fines, which in his case amounted to a fine of EUR 480.
He denied any guilt in the case.
A total of nine other persons received sentences in Vantaa on Tuesday.
The heaviest sentence, of five years' imprisonment, was handed to 37-year-old Gilles Albert Mansouaka-Bayi from Helsinki.
Pikku G ("Little G") , so named for his diminutive size and the "Genetic" breakdance associated with his act, is a Finnish rapper from Nurmijärvi who surfaced in 2003 and was briefly very popular, with his debut album Räjähdysvaara becoming the first Finnish hip hop album to sell platinum.
It was also Finland's most sold record in 2003, shipping some 120,000 copies.
During the general election campaign of 2007, Vähäkainu ran unsuccessfully for Parliament on a Centre Party ticket, and he also supported Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen (Centre) in his bid for the position of President in 2006.
The artist's career has waned since his heyday as a teenager in the early part of the decade, and he was also convicted in September 2009 of aggravated driving under the influence, for which he received a suspended prison sentence.
