A family of four have died in a gruesome shooting incident in the village of Anttila, close to the southern city of Porvoo. According to the police, the offender is almost certainly one of the victims.
By Tuesday, the police had not disclosed which one of the parents was the apparent killer.
From a detached house surrounded by fields, behind locked doors, the police found dead the family's father, a chimney-sweep born in 1966, the mother, a housewife born in 1968, and their two children, a daughter of eight and a son of six.
According to Chief Inspector Kaj Wall, the police still have to confirm a few points and hear a few people, before it can be announced who was the killer and what were the possible motives.
The firearm that was used was found inside the house.

Police arrived at the scene just before noon and broke through the door. It is still unclear at what time the shots were fired. Police have also not revealed where in the house the bodies were found.
To the shocked neighbours the whole incident came as a total surprise. "They looked like such a harmonious couple", one of the neighbours commented. The family had lived in the house for just under ten years.
The dead man's uncle arrived at the scene in the afternoon. He was unable to come up with any reasons for the tragedy. He described his nephew as friendly, open, and liked. The family was not in any financial distress, either.
Just the previous evening the father had cut the grass in front of the house.
