We apologise for the late arrival of today's instalment, but the online editorial system unilaterally decided to terminate its contract at a most unfortunate moment as we were about to publish, leaving us dead in the water until it was fixed.
Even now it is running very slowly, such that entering and publishing text is rather like walking through knee-deep molasses. Hopefully the glitch will be sorted out during the afternoon.
