The Esplanade Park in downtown Helsinki is currently glowing in snow-white winter lighting.
A total of 100,000 LED lights were lit in the park on Tuesday December 2nd, bringing a wintry atmosphere to the centre of the capital.

The bright LED lights were placed in the surroundings of the statue of Johan Ludvig Runeberg, the national poet of Finland, as well as in the trees at both ends of the park.
In addition, blue ”snowflakes” have been attached to the heads of the lighting columns. The upper part of the bandstand also has blue and white lights giving the effect of a sharp frost.
A part of the LED lights will be left in the park. They will be used again during the next Christmas season.
