 print this
The annual Helsinki Book Fair that ended on Sunday set a new record for the number of visitors. In the course of four days, the event attracted just under 80,000 visitors.

Last year the number of visitors fell just short of 77,000.
Particularly Friday saw an increase on the figure for 2009, with approximately 22,000 people visiting the Helsinki Fair Centre in Pasila.

The Helsinki Book Fair was organised for the tenth time. More than 1,000 performers were seen on the several fair stages and there were more than 300 exhibitors, including publishers, bookstores, and antiquarian bookshops on the stands.

This year, the main theme of the Helsinki Book Fair was France.
At the same time, two other events were arranged under the same roof. They were the Wine, Food and Good Living Fair and the Helsinki Music Fair.
