Contrary to earlier reports, United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will not be visiting Helsinki in early July after all. The visit was to have taken place at the invitation of Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Stubb (National Coalition Party).
According to Alexander Stubb, attempts are still being made to find a convenient date for Clinton’s visit.
She was to have come to Finland in connection with her visit to Poland to attend a meeting of the Community of Democracies in the Polish city of Krakow on July 2-4.
”No new date for the visit has been set so far. It could be later in July or maybe no sooner than next autumn”, Stubb commented to the Finnish News Agency (STT) on Monday.
Originally Hillary Clinton was planning to come to Finland already in April, but the trip was cancelled because of widespread air travel problems linked with volcanic ash in the atmosphere.
