A silent stream of people came to express their condolences on the death of President Yasser Arafat at the office of the Palestine General Delegation in Helsinki on Sunday.
On Saturday and Sunday, members of the public were invited to sign the condolence book at the office on Fredrikinkatu.
According to the Palestine General Delegation, hundreds of people came to sign the book. A large number of messages of condolence were also sent in by e-mail.

Outside, at the nearby Fredrikintori square, there was another condolence book that was placed in a tent decorated by flowers and photos of Arafat.
Some passers-by came there to light candles.
