The quest to get hold of the Canada Trophy, the most coveted prize in Finnish ice hockey, now has only two contenders: Oulu Kärpät and Helsinki Jokerit.
They will meet in the best-of-seven finals, starting with a game in Oulu on April 7th.
Jokerit overcame the defending champions HPK of Hämeeenlinna in the semi-finals, while Kärpät disposed of Espoo Blues.
Neither of these best-of-five contests developed into anything like a titanic struggle, as in both cases the victors skated to a straight 3-0 victory.
Jokerit demolished HPK by 4-0 in their decisive third encounter on Saturday, and Kärpät edged past Blues 3-2 in overtime for a similar "straight sets" win.
The names of the two finalists come as no great surprise: Kärpät won the regular season with 115 points and Jokerit were runners-up.
Kärpät were Finnish Champions in 2004 and in 2005, and in fact defeated Jokerit in that year's finals. Jokerit last captured the title in 2002.
HPK and Espoo Blues will play for the bronze medals in a winner-takes-all encounter in Hämeenlinna on Thursday. The match has been brought forward from the original date owing to the speedy elimination of the two beaten semi-finalists.
