Interior Ministry and TeliaSonera reported to be close to agreement on information security
According to a television news report put out by the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE), the Ministry of the Interior and the telecommunications service provider TeliaSonera are close to resolving a dispute on data security.
In February, the Interior Ministry demanded compensation from TeliaSonera, after the operator had, in the view of the ministry, endangered the security of those working at the ministry by failing to protect e-mail messages.
YLE reported that TeliaSonera is agreeing to some kind of compensation or restitution, and the parties have also agreed on improving data security practices.
Nevertheless, the Ministry of the Interior is adhering to is decision to take TeliaSonera's competitor Elisa as its mobile phone service provider.
