Kallasvuo: Nokia is not planning to leave Finland

President and CEO of Nokia Corporation Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo denied once again on Wednesday the allegations that the company would have put pressure on Finnish law-makers and politicians during the preparation of a bill on electronic data protection, also known as Lex Nokia.
Furthermore, Nokia has no plans of moving its headquarters away from Finland, Kallasvuo says.
“We do not have such thoughts or plans”, Kallasvuo insisted when interviewed in the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE’s economic current affairs program A-Plus.

The CEO believed that the company’s reputation in Finland had been tarnished because of the fuss surrounding the data protection act.
It has been claimed, for instance, that Nokia issued the threat of moving out if its views on the bill were not given due consideration.
More recent reports have suggested the origin of the threats - if there were any - may have been elsewhere.
