Following the commencement of co-determination negotiations, the employees of the Finnish chemicals company Kemira have announced that they are planning to organise protests involving thousands of participants from Kemira offices in various European countries in the course of next week.

The company’s personnel groups from its European sites met in Vantaa on Thursday.
A final decision on the implementation of the planned protests will be made by Monday. In Finland the proposed protests would affect all the group’s sites.

Kemira announced at the beginning of August that as part of its restructuring programme, the company plans to concentrate all its research activities in Espoo.
The subsequent co-determination negotiations apply to a total of 300 employees at five of the group’s Finnish locations.
