Kjell Westö’s novel Där vi en gång gått (Where We Once Went; Missä kuljimme kerran) has been translated into Spanish.
The book, which won the 2006 Finlandia Prize, was translated from the Swedish-language original by Caterina Pascual Söderbaum, and is published by Miscelánea.

A lengthy article on Westö was printed in the daily La Vanguardia on June 17th.
La Vanguardia, which is published in Barcelona, is one of the most widely-read newspapers in Spain.
In the article Westö notes for example that modern Finland is moving towards a more Mediterranean way of life, which is lessening the country’s characteristically Lutheran spirit.
A few volumes of Finnish literature are translated into Spanish each year. The Spanish-speaking world consists of more than 20 countries.
