Lotto rollover jackpot goes to two winners
It may not have been the EUR 148 million of the Italian SuperEnalotto or the 126 million won by someone in the Euromillions earlier this year, but the EUR 6.9 million rollover jackpot offered at the weekend by Lotto, Finland's national lottery, was a new record, and it certainly brought out the punters.
In the end, the numbers that came up were 4, 5, 8, 31, 36,37, and 39, and they proved lucky for two winners.
The fortunate ones from Kirkkonummi and Lohja will each collect EUR 3,450,000.
Around EUR 18 million had been invested with lottery operators Veikkaus in the week's draw, after three previous weeks had failed to produce an winner in the 7-from-39 numbers game.
This was roughly double the normal investment by Finns on their Saturday thrill (although this time the draw was held on Sunday night because of the All Saints holiday).
