Man dies after Friday night shooting in Pori
A man in his late 20s from Pori was shot in the head after a quarrel in the city's market square late on Friday evening. He died some 24 hours later in the Turku University Central Hospital without regaining consciousness. The man suspected of the offence later handed himself in to police.
According to the police, the events spiralled out of control after the suspected shooter went to ask the victim for a cigarette. An argument followed, when the victim refused. The man then got hold of an unlicensed weapon and shot the victim at close range.
There were apparently a number of witnesses to the incident, which took place close to a late-night kiosk.
