Management changes at Finland's largest concert promoter
The entire management at Live Nation Finland, the country's largest concert promoter, is to undergo a change, as the company's main promoter Risto Juvonen is to leave his post, according to reports from the Finnish Broadcasting Company, YLE.
Juvonen has been a concert promoter for the past 25 years, first with a concert agency named Welldone Agency & Promotions.
Welldone became a part of Live Nation in 2000 and changed its name formally in February 2008.
According to YLE, Juvonen is leaving because he feels he has achieved more in the field than he could ever have anticipated.
Live Nation Finland's chief promoter will henceforth be Welshman Scott Lavender, and the company's new CEO will be Nina Castrén, currently the Administrative Director.
She will take over the reins in August after the U2 concerts in the Olympic Stadium.
Live Nation Finland is comfortably the country's biggest arena & stadium concert promoter, arranging around 600 events each year, with the list - including those brought here under the Welldone name - featuring the appearances of the likes of Bob Dylan, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Metallica, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Paul McCartney, The Three Tenors, Robbie Williams, Spice Girls, Sting, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, and Tina Turner.
The two sold-out Springsteen stadium gigs in the summer of 2003 attracted a record Finnish audience of nearly 90,000.
In recent years the company has been run from Sweden, but from August the adminstrative responsibilities will be returned to Finland.
In 2009 the company posted net sales of around EUR 47 million.
