About 30 motorcyclists were stopped by police on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at Helsinki’s passenger harbours on Thursday morning.
Police say that the motorcyclists from around Europe were on their way to Seinäjoki to attend an international Harley Davidson Super Rally which stretches from Thursday this week to Monday, June 1st.
Most of those with too much alcohol on their breath nevertheless did not exceed the threshold for aggravated DUI, and police imposed temporary bans on driving on them.
In Seinäjoki, police stopped two bikers from Helsinki who did not meet legal sobriety standards.
One of them is suspected of having used an intoxicant other than alcohol.
The five-day HD event is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
