Newspaper: Union accuses Nokia over working conditions

 print this
The Union of Salaried Employees (TU) is taking issue with working conditions of Finnish employees at Nokia.
According to the on-line edition of the Lahti-based newspaper Etelä-Suomen Sanomat, the organisation has complaints about both working conditions and pay at Nokia.
The union says it has information about odd aspects of the company's personnel policy, which it wants to discuss with the company's management.

TU Chairman Antti Rinne says that it is difficult for Nokia employees themselves to raise the issues.
TU is Finland's largest white-collar union in the private sector. Thousands of its members work at Nokia.
"If rank-and-file employees or shop stewards raise these issues, there is a big hostile reaction in Nokia. I don't know what they can do to a labour union", Rinne notes in an interview with Etelä-Suomen Sanomat.
