No Finnish tourists believed to be affected by Egypt explosions
Matti Eirola, an official at the Finish Embassy in the Egyptian capital Cairo, says that Finnish tour operators have reported that there were no Finnish groups in the Sinai resort of Dahab on Monday when a series of explosions there killed more than 20 people.
"One Finn on her own was there, but her family said that she was all right", Eirola said by telephone from Cairo.
Finnish package tours to the Sinai usually focus on diving holidays, mainly to Sharm el-Sheikh.
Joni Kautto, a Finnish diving instructor in Sharm el-Sheikh, said on Monday that he knew of no Finns in Dahab.
"The Finns' diving season in the area is getting to be over", Kautto said.
