The warm weather that delighted Finns in May is not likely to be making a return this week, even though the holiday season is now under way as schools and colleges have broken up for the year.
According to the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the first week of freedom for schoolchildren and students is going to bring temeperatures no better than just under 20°C.
In southern and western districts of the country the mercury will climb above 18°C at the beginning of the week, but in Central finland people will have to wait until Wednesday for even this less-then-tropical offering.
Still, spare a thought for those up north, who will have to make do for the next few days with cloudy weather and showers and temperatures hovering just over ten degrees Celsius.
