Nokia published an apology on Thursday for the confusion caused by a video promoting its new Lumia phones.
Nokia, which presented its new phones to the public on Wednesday, released a video on YouTube showcasing the company’s Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) stabilisation technology. The video shows two pictures of a young woman cycling, and is meant to depict the quality of the images shot by the new Lumia models launched on Thursday.

Early on in the video a man is shown using the phone to shoot video of the woman, and as the video was released at the same time as the new Nokia phones, the clear suggestion was that the video footage actually was taken by the Lumia 920 phone.
However, a number of technology websites and bloggers made note of a reflection showing that the video of the images were actually being shot by a camera crew in a van.

After the revelation Nokia published an apology. In a post on the Conversations by Nokia blog, Heidi Lemmetyinen confirmed that the footage was not shot by a Lumia 920.
"In an effort to demonstrate the benefits of optical image stabilization (which eliminates blurry images and improves pictures shot in low light conditions), we produced a video that simulates what we will be able to deliver with OIS", Lemmetyinen wrote.
"This was not shot with a Lumia 920. At least, not yet. We apologize for the confusion we created", she added.
