Police establish minute-to-minute time line of movements of Jokela killer

Auvinen only shot himself soon after firing shots at police

 print this
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has established a time line of the movements of Pekka-Eric Auvinen, the gunman in the Jokela school massacre on November 7th.
Auvinen killed eight people with his handgun in the attack on the Jokela School in Tuusula, north of Helsinki, and later took his own life.
Tero Haapala of the NBI says that the time line is accurate to the minute, and in some cases, to the second.

Investigations have revealed that the 18-year-old Auvinen shot himself in the head in the school's toilet almost immediately after he had been seen by police, and he had fired at police at 12:04. There was a long period in which hid did not fire any shots at people.
Forensic chemical tests to determine if Auvinen had taken any intoxicants before the massacre will be ready next week.
The full police investigation is expected to be complete by late December.
