Poll shows rise in support for Centre and National Coalition Parties

 print this
The Centre Party and the opposition National Coalition Party appear to be gaining public support.
According to a poll commissioned by the Radio News department of the public broadcaster YLE, the Social Democratic Party remains the country's most popular, but both the Centre and the National Coalition are shoring up the gap.
The poll gives the SDP 25.2 percent support, while the Centre gets 24.3 percent, and the National Coalition Party gets 21.5 percent. The Green League is fourth with 9.4 percent, and the Left Alliance enjoys 8.6 percent support.

In an earlier poll in January, the SDP was ahead of the Centre Party by more than four percentage points, and six points ahead of the National Coalition Party.
The survey was conducted by the market research company Taloustutkimus, which interviewed 1,900 Finns in April. The margin of error is two percentage points.
