According to the latest pollen report released by the Aerobiology Unit of the University of Turku, birch flowering is now peaking in the Oulu region, while it has also been increasing in Lapland.
In Central Finland the pollen counts for birch are decreasing, while in Southern Finland the flowering of birch has already come to an end. However, the wind may bring some pollen from the north to the southern parts of the country, causing symptoms among allergy sufferers.
The flowering of early grasses is continuing in Southern Finland, though the air particle counts remain rather low as yet.
