A group that was set up by President Sauli Niinistö to consider ways to prevent social marginalisation held its first meeting on Tuesday.
During his presidential campaign and soon after he took office, Niinistö promised to work against the marginalisation of children and young people.
Members of the group include professionals in social work, youth work, education, sport, culture, and law enforcement. Niinistö’s aim is to take advantage of their “silent knowledge” and to draw up concrete methods that everyone can use.
The experts in the group have varying experiences from the everyday lives of children and young people. The President’s Office says that more experts will be invited to join the group later.
