President Halonen and former Presidents Koivisto and Ahtisaari to attend funeral of Lennart Meri

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen together with her husband Dr. Pentti Arajärvi will represent Finland at the funeral of the former Estonian President Lennart Meri. Former Finnish Heads of State Mauno Koivisto and Martti Ahtisaari have also confirmed their attendance.
      Meri will be buried in Tallinn on March 26th. He died at the age of 76 of a serious illness at a hospital in Tallinn early on Tuesday morning.
      Meri served as Estonia's President from 1992 to 2001. Before that he briefly served as Estonia's Foreign Minister and was the country's Ambassador to Finland in 1992.
