Kun kyyhkyset katosivat (“When the Pigeons Disappeared”), a new novel by Finnish author Sofi Oksanen, which is scheduled for publication in the autumn, will have a record-breaking print run of 100,000 copies for its first edition in the autumn.
The novel will be published at a public event event at the Nokia Concert Hall in the Estonian capital Tallinn.
The evening’s festivities will include be the world premiere of the film Purge, which is based on another Sofi Oksanen novel. The event will be open to the public.
“It feels fantastic that my readers will be taking part in the premiere and the publication events, as they have made all of this possible”, Oksanen says.
She also says that the new novel and the Purge fim will take Oksanen on a tour around Finland.
