Returned Madonna tickets turn out to be a no-show

The saga of the search for tickets for Madonna's concert in Helsinki in August continued on Tuesday.
      The phonelines of the Lippupiste ticket agency were badly jammed up yesterday morning, when those who had been left without tickets last week sought to pick up returns that were expected to come in.
      However, no tickets came back on sale in the morning.
     
The tickets for the concert in Jätkäsaari, which sold out briskly on Monday a week ago in spite of numerous glitches and sales of around 80,000, should all have been picked up no later than Monday February 16th.
      The Lippupiste website noted on Monday that if tickets had not been taken up by the deadline, any spares would be put on sale from 7:00 through the call-in service, and at Lippupiste outlets when they opened.
      The tickets were not to be available through the company's online portal.
     
Once again it was almost impossible to get through to the phone desks.
      Eventually a call went through at 7:50, but the response was that the full complement of tickets had been taken up and that none were returned for sale on Tuesday morning.
      Some tickets did come back into circulation after the initial sale, from customers who had attempted to buy more than the maximum six per person.
      Tickets for the gig have continued to be sold in the secondary market on Finnish online auction houses, often for seriously inflated sums.
