 print this
According to the TT news bureau, the Russian Ministry for Foreign Affairs summoned the Swedish Ambassador in Moscow to their office on Monday and expressed their concern over the Chechen rebel website which has now re-opened through a Swedish host.
The Swedish Ambassador commented that the Swedish government cannot do anything about the matter, as it is a judicial issue.
Previously, the kavkazcenter.com website operated through a Finnish server for a couple of days, but the pages were shut down after the Finnish Security Police (SUPO) had visited the premises of the proprietor and confiscated the server for further investigation.
The Finnish operator of the website, Mikael Storsjö, has now hired a server for the pages in Sweden.
Minister of the Interior Kari Rajamäki commented on Tuesday that the website was closed down by the decision of the Managing Director of the Finnish proprietor company. Moreover, Rajamäki stressed that SUPO did not act at the request of any minister but on the basis of their own assessment.
