Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is to make a visit to Finland on Monday August 20th at the invitation of Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja (SDP).
During his visit Lavrov will also meet with President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen (National Coalition Party).
The topics of discussion will include for instance the state of relations between the European Union and Russia, topical foreign and security policy issues, as well as bilateral relations between Finland and Russia.
Lasvrov, 62, has been the Foreign Minister of Russia since 2004, prior to which he spent ten years as Russia's Ambassador to the United Nations.
