 print this
A Russian truck-trailer combination swerved off the road on Highway 15 near Kotka on Wednesday.
The accident happened after the subject of Russian trucks on Finland's roads has been made topical by a recent fatal accident and a report that indicates a staggering increase in the volume of heavy goods traffic crossing the eastern border by road.
The road near Kotka was partly closed while the truck was lifted out of the ditch by the verge, and in order to attach it to a tow-truck ordered from Porvoo. Nobody was injured in the accident, which occurred between 17:00 and 18:00 in the early evening.

A witness who arrived immediately after the accident estimated that the vehicle's trailer had begun to swing from side to side, causing the truck itself to swerve off the road to the right-hand verge.
The vehicle travelled along the verge for more than 100 metres before coming to a halt.
